Program for the April Meeting (3rd Tuesday 6:00 to 8:00)

"CARVING SMALL CHARACTERS"
April 21 Program: "Carving Small Characters", using Jack Price's pattern. There are all sorts of reasons for caving small characters: practice knife technique, sketch out an idea before going full size, use all those cut-offs on the shop floor, carve something for no reason other than that it is amusing. From a single pattern Price carves a wide range of characters - male, female, imaginary, and mythical. From Price's caricature style we can branch out into flat plane, realistic, stylized.., all from a 3/4 x 3/4 x 2 inch block. Jim Miner will provide blanks and a brief introduction. You bring your tools and imagination.
