Potential Chip Carving Seminar
The Columbus Chippers Woodcarving Club has been approached as a possible host for a September Chip Carving Seminar. John Beach and/or Keith will provide details at the May 19th Chippers meeting. The offer is for the club to host a two day seminar on chip carving at a location yet to be determined. classes would be 9:00-Noon and 1:00-4:00 each day (Sat & Sun Sept 12 & 13, 2015). That is 6 weeks prior to our Trees to Treasures Show October 31st.
Tuition proposed is $125 each and that includes practice boards, patterns, use of knives, tools & personal instruction. The instructor would be Marty Leenhouts (you can check him out at www.mychipcarving.com). Similar to our upcoming seminar with Bruce Henn, we would invite the carving public and neighboring clubs. HOWEVER - we first need to determine interest level. Please be prepared to give feedback on your level of interest to either John or Keith this Tuesday night.

Columbus Chippers at the Ohio State Fair
As a reminder that Columbus Chippers Woodcarving Club will be showing at the Ohio State Fair August 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. There are still spaces available each day. If you did not sign up at last month's meeting please let Joseph Poindexter know you would like to participate, and he will add you to the list. Also unlike previous years where we were not allowed to sell items, this year you CAN SELL carvings. So get with Joseph and lend a hand.
Program - May 19th Meeting
The program for May is about tool sharpening. The teacher will be Lori Andrews and she will be talking about cabinet scrapers and other hard to sharpen carving tools.
